After my last post, you might think it's a really clumsy transition going from a weighty topic like orphan care to a flippant topic such as our potty.
But that's life, isn't it? A string of experiences, some of which mean everything (the lives of orphans), some of which mean nothing (the potty). Life and death...and plumbing.
Our apartment has a squatty rather than a western toilet. No biggie; we're completely used to it. Titus and Mike do great with it. Except for one thing. Before we put in a drain cover they dropped a plastic ball, plastic egg and plastic juice bottle down the 4 inch opening. That will plug the drain...so we had to call in a specialist with impressive equipment to extract the debris. I don't know if there's like a tank in the ground or what. We're on the 6th floor; did he suction that bottle up six floors? I really don't understand how the plumbing works but he solved the problem. Little boys thought it was very exciting!
Now if that is exciting, check this out. Tomorrow morning we are setting off for HONG KONG! We're going to meet up with four dear, awesome folks who we love like crazy. If you can be the first person to name all four I will definitely send back a cool Chinese somethin' somethin' for you. Leave your guess in the 'reader response' box below. Don't be shy.
Paul, Jon, Jennifer, Louise? :) You don't have to send me anything!
ReplyDeleteI have an unfair advantage here: Could it be Paul, Jon, Jennifer, and Louise? I miss these guys already, and I only lived with them for 3 days! I am confident you will have an amazing time.
