Let It Be Known

Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.

Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.

(from Psalm 51)

I don't know if you have this perception, but it seems that sometimes people who have jobs like Drew & me talk a lot about the good things that we get to do, and paint a picture like...yep, I'm a pretty cool, really blessed, good person with a happy life.

Let it be known that's not the whole story. Do you ever do things you hate? I do. Do you ever have an ugly heart or bad motives, secrets that you would feel so embarrassed about if it was public info? I DO!

I definitely don't always do what is right and good. In fact, sometimes I am just awful.

But thankfully ('thankfully' is the greatest understatement EVER), that's not the end of the story...

  1. Just saw your comment on your blog - one way I hope to make things "stick" is presenting learning in a varity of ways - including music! i knew this song before i ever knew it was a literal quote from a psalm. music gets stuck in your head and is a great way to learn things. i'm sure i will teach this song to help them.

i think i will take time to blog once or twice a week to share my resources before i forget them... and for the feedback/encouragement, of course!
