First week, Titus looked at me and with a straight face stated plainly, "Mom. I hate basketball."
For someone claiming to hate the sport, he sure had a lot of fun!
Week two.
"Did you have fun at basketball this morning?"
"Yeah."
"Do you like basketball?"
"A...little bit."
It doesn't matter if they grow up liking sports or not, or excelling in any particular activity, but I'd like for them to realize their amazing capacity for learning, enjoy trying new things, develop perseverance, learn how to be coached and corrected, and enjoy playing and working on teams.
This two-week morning bball camp was a very special opportunity, hosted by our preschool's P.E. teachers. Next time the guys are thinking they want to try out Tae Kwan Do! Locally, our athletic options are basically Tae Kwan Do, dance, swimming and rarely, basketball. When they're older they can also try badminton, tennis, and track.
